Rod Dodge
Celebrates 40 Years
with Okanogan Douglas Hospital
In 1965, Elvis married Priscilla; Beetle mania took off in the U.S. and Rod Dodge embarked on a 40-year career in physical therapy with Okanogan Douglas Hospital.
Rod’s plan was to partner with a friend and fellow P.T. from Cashmere. Together, they would cover Brewster and Omak. That didn’t work out because Drs. Lamberton, Stout and Schnibbe kept Rod busy in Brewster. At that time, all three family doctors performed partial hip replacements.
Rod, a 1960 graduate of Twisp, was the first physical therapist in North Central Washington. He attended WSU in Pullman and the Mayo Clinic in New York for his education. After working with rehabilitation program in San Francisco, to cerebral palsy in Seattle and the school system in Everett, it was time to return home.
On July 15th, Rod’s anniversary, his wife Bonnie hosted a celebration at the hospital with delicious treats for all to enjoy. Rod has three children. He and Bonnie live in Brewster.
For hobbies, Rod enjoys Alpine and Nordic skiing, horseback riding and fishing. Hunting, a sport he once pursued, may happen again in the future. But, this smiling energetic, quiet spoken icon isn’t talking retirement yet.
