Okanogan Douglas Hospital provides a wide range of employee benefits. We recognize that we have a diverse group of employees and strive to provide a variety of benefits to accomidate all of our employees.
As your needs change, you can respond to new circumstances by making the choices that are right for you. You are eligible for the flexible benefits program after three months of employment. |

Employee Medical Plan
We provide a comprehensive major-medical health insurance product for our full-time and eligible employees. Our coverage options include individual, you & children, you & spouse, you & family, or no coverage. You may decline coverage and receive a stipened amount of $1.10/hr.
Dental Plan
We offer supplemental dental coverage includes Diagnostic and Preventative, Basic, Major services. This benefit is paid by the employee and may be done so on a pretax basis.
Life Insurance/Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Plan
To help ensure the financial security of those who depend upon you, we offer several options in individual coverage of one year's annual salary.
Dependent Life Insurance
Employees may elect to purchase additional life insurance coverage for themselves, their spouse or eligible dependents. The cost of this benefit is a flat rate of $2.20/month regardles of the number of dependants covered.
Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefits
This allows the option of providing AD&D coverage for your dependents as well as supplemental insurance for yourself.
Long-Term Disability
We offer employer paid long term disability insurance that pays 40% of the employees income for an injury in which they miss work in excess of 180 days. Employees may purchase a buy-up option that pays 60% income after 90 days.
Flexible Spending Account Plan
With a flexible spending account, you have additional tax savings opportunities. This plan allows you to reimburse yourself for routine health care and dependent day care expenses with tax-free dollars. This benefit equates to a significant discount on your expenses - anywhere from 26% to 43% depending on your tax bracket.
401(k) and 457 Plans
We maintain an excellent retirement program for eligible employees. Our defined contribution 401(K) plan allows you to set aside 5% of your pay each pay period in convenient pre-tax payroll deductions. Okanogan Douglas Hospital matches your contribution with 3% of your gross income. The 457 Plan lets you enjoy discretionary contributions. Both plan give you investment options, so you can select the investment strategy that makes the most sense for you and the flexibility to change how you save and invest your money quarterly. You become eligible to participate in the plan after three months of employment if you are at least age 21. Employees may only begin contributions to the 457 Plan at start of each quarter.
Work and Family Benefits
In addition to the plans outlined above, ODH offers additional benefits programs, including the following:
Direct Deposit
Your paycheck may be deposited directly into your checking and/or savings account if you choose.
Shift Differentials
Shift differentials are paid for night, weekend and holidays according to job classifications.
Continuing Education
We believe continuing education is important and this benefit is designed to accommodate employees who want to go back to school and obtain additional academic credentials. Programs are available in many areas. Most offer certified CPE/CPU credit hours to meet various requirements. This benefit is available Immediately upon employment.
Employee Assistance Program
We believe our employees are our most valuable asset. It is our goal to provide a nurturing work environment that promtes a healthy balance between work and life. We offer an employee assistance program to assit our employees in maintaining this balance.
Health Club Membership
We provide access to our on-site health club/wellness center. This benefit gives our employees access to state-of-the-art exercise equipment and our wellness programs to stop smoking, assist with weight loss, and many others.
Employees may join the Healthbeat Fitness Center for $10 cash/month. Family memberships may also be purchased at greatly reduced rates.
Sick Leave
Employees earn up to 12 days of sick leave annually. Upon completion of their 90 day probationary period.
Vacation Leave
Employees will begin accruing vacation leave upon completion of their 90 day probationary period. The rate at which you accumulate funds in your account is determined by your years of service with the Hospital.
Holiday Pay
We recognize 6 major holidays and offer two floating holidays that the employee may take anytime throughout the year except during the month of December. Official holidays recognized are: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independance Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
In-House Discount
Employees enjoy an in-house hospital services are waived up to $750.00.
Worker's Compensation
Medical care and partial replacement of wages for on-the-job injuries are available through Worker's Compensation insurance. This benefit is paid entirely by the Hospital and is available to you immediately upon becoming an employee.
