Colposcope Machine
To
Okanogan Douglas Hospital
Don Wilson, Executive Director of the Methow Valley Health Alliance and Gaylord Schank, Alliance board member, presented a colposcope to the Okanogan Douglas Hospital. The colposcope had been donated to MVHA recently. Don called Sandy Walter, Chief of Operations at the hospital, and learned that the hospital could most definitely use the machine, valued at $5-6,000.
The irony of the situation is that until recently, the hospital would not have been able to utilize this unique machine. But, Dr. Eric Haeger, the hospital’s most recent staff addition, is already trained to perform colposcopies. The timing couldn’t be better.
A colposcope is an instrument extremely beneficial to physicians in the detection of cancer of the cervix at an early stage.
