Weight Loss Seminar
Promotes Exercise

It’s January, once again time to implement that New Year’s resolution to “get fit and get healthy”.
To educate the community on what is currently available to assist people with this resolution; Dr. Larry Smith (Okanogan Douglas Hospital) conducted an informative seminar on 1) why we gain weight 2) why we lose weight and most importantly 3) how we can keep it off.
Using a multitude of facts and figures (i.e., BMI – body mass index, Basal Energy Expenditure calculations, medications – helpful or harmful), Dr. Smith captured the attention of the group. It boils down to this, Dr. Smith says, “NO BODY KEEPS WEIGHT OFF UNLESS THEY EXERCISE -- NOBODY!!”
Rob Dezellem, fitness consultant, gave a brief presentation on the importance and effectiveness of exercise.
